The Area

The property is situated in the village of Camber, set directly on the 3km stretch of beach, which is often regarded as one of the best in the UK.

A large section of the dunes lie within the SSSI (Special Site Of Scientific Interest), while the remainder of the beach is designated a Site Of Nature Conservation Importance.

The Cinque Port town of Rye, with its cobbled streets and abundance of cafés, boutiques and antique shops, lies 4.5 miles to the west, while further along the coast sits the bustling seaside town of Hastings. The pretty town of Tenterden is about 30 minutes’ drive north, offering plenty of bric-a-brac shops and high-street stores.

The area is peppered with picture-perfect villages and a huge selection of country pubs, serving delicious local produce such as Romney Marsh lamb and Rye Bay fish. The eerily beautiful headland of Dungeness is 9 miles to the east.

The shingle landscape, where ramshackle fishermen’s cottages sit alongside sleek architect-designed new-builds, is a haven for artists and photographers.

For those that enjoy watersports, there is windsurfing and kite surfing available in both Camber and nearby Lydd. You can also take advantage of beach horse rides, vineyard tours and scenic walking and cycling routes taking in the unique flora and fauna. There is also an abundance of activities for the little ones – from petting farms and steam railways to castles and lighthouses!
